CHERYL YOCUM, JD, PI

President/CEO

Ms. Yocum conducts and directs in depth investigations on various types of cases, including workplace, elder abuse and premises liability investigations. Successful legal professionals trust Ms. Yocum to gather the sometimes elusive evidence needed to successfully conclude an investigation. Ms. Yocum combines formal education with extensive training and on-the-job experience to provide clients with comprehensive evidence-gathering capabilities.

Ms. Yocum’s Bachelor of Science degree is in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting and Finance. While in law school she passed the Certified Public Accountant examination. She obtained her Juris Doctorate degree in 1987 from Nebraska College of Law and moved to California to begin her career. Prior to joining Gailey Associates, Inc., Ms. Yocum was a partner in a local law firm where she handled cases from inception through trial. Her accounting and legal background have honed her analytical skills to enable her to analyze data and provide concise, accurate reports.

As an attorney, she represented clients in insurance, products liability, premises liability, medical malpractice and business litigation matters. This diverse background enables Ms. Yocum to efficiently distill even the most complex issues to focus the investigation in a results-oriented manner.

Her many years of trial experience give her unique expertise in conducting fraud and internal investigations, to provide the utmost in support for cases in litigation and pre-litigation as well as accurate, admissible evidence. She has conducted numerous investigations into sexual harassment, sexual and religious discrimination, race and age discrimination and hostile work environment.

Ms. Yocum is a member of the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, Association of Workplace Investigators and the University of Nebraska Alumni Association.

JEFFREY GAILEY, PI

Vice-President

Jeffrey Gailey’s career in investigative services began in 1995, when he joined Gailey Associates, Inc., as an investigator trainee. Since that time, he has worked in and then supervised nearly every practice area in the company. Mr. Gailey first worked in the research department, learning investigative skills in process serving, court research and research analysis tasks. He then became a senior research analyst, creating and putting into place state of the art research and skip tracing techniques and resources which are still employed today. Mr. Gailey then successfully passed the State of California test for Private Investigators and gained his Private Investigators License. He was then assigned to the workers compensation practice and received comprehensive training as an AOE/COE investigator. He became an expert in this area, quickly becoming the lead investigator for a number of workers’ compensation clients. He then trained and supervised subordinate investigators in this complicated field.

Mr. Gailey was promoted to Senior Investigator in the Operations Division of the firm, and was named to head the Governmental defense practice area. He currently heads the City of Los Angeles Civil Liability contract on behalf of the firm.

In 2007 Mr. Gailey was made a Vice President and shareholder in the firm.

NICHOLE TAHMASIAN

Investigator

Ms. Tahmasian studied at the University of California, Irvine and obtained her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Criminology, Law and Society. After graduating in 2003, she continued her education by obtaining her certificate in Advanced Forensics from California State University, Fullerton.

Ms. Tahmasian’s education is supplemented with a broad range of hands-on work experience in the investigative realm. She was employed for two years as a Worker’s Compensation Investigator for a private firm in Huntington Beach, CA and then went on to conduct child abuse investigations in Riverside County for over six and a half years with the Department of Children’s Services. These child abuse cases involved investigating allegations of drug abuse/sales, domestic violence, rape, molestation, physical abuse, neglect and homicide.

Ms. Tahmasian currently conducts civil investigations of deputy-involved shootings/ use of force cases for local cities and counties and conducts personal injury investigations on behalf of the municipalities as well as retail establishments and insurance companies. She has interviewed dozens of witnesses and subjects and prepared detailed reports for her clients.  Ms. Tahmasian is also a registered process server specializing in difficult to locate and evasive witnesses.

GAIL KAMINE

Research Analyst

Gail Kamine is a graduate of University of California, Irvine.  Ms. Kamine began her investigative career in May 2004 as a records researcher searching court records in the pre-employment industry. She joined Gailey Associates, Inc. in February 2008 as a research analyst where she continually develops her research analysis skills.  Ms. Kamine conducts asset and background investigations as well as investigations to locate witnesses.  She conducts social media investigations and utilizes open source intelligence to obtain evidence for the broad spectrum of cases handled by the firm.
