Bill Gailey commended in California Senate Resolution
Senate Resolution Number 946 was presented to Mr. Gailey by the Honorable Tom Harman of the 35th Senatorial District in California. The resolution was passed on July 21st, 2011 in recognition of Mr. Gailey’s leadership while serving on the California State Bar Board of Governors.
Mentioned in the resolution was Mr. Gailey’s vast investigative experience, including 23 years with the Los Angeles Police Department, and his membership in the California Association of Licensed Investigators in addition to several other investigation related associations.
Mr. Gailey currently serves as chairman of Gailey Associates, Inc. From 1968 to 1991, he worked as a detective for the Los Angeles Police Department. Gailey is a decorated Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army; 173rd Airborne Brigade, and the 82nd Airborne Division, where he served as a sergeant E-5 paratrooper from 1965 to 1968. Mr. Gailey currently serves as the Vice President of the California State Bar, Board of Governors. Here is the text of the resolution:

Relative to Commending William H. Gailey
Whereas, the State of California holds high esteem those who have made extraordinary contributions to the principles of Justice, equality, and fairness, and included among those individuals who have committed themselves to this endeavor is William H. Gailey of the State Bar of California; and
Whereas, As founder and Chair of Gailey Associates, Inc., Williams Gailey provides corporate investigative and due diligence services and conducts and directs investigations in matters involving litigation or the prospect of litigation; and
Whereas, Possessing investigative expertise that spans over 30 years, including 23 years with the Los Angeles Police Department, William Gailey has served as a senior level Detective III with the Robbery-Homicide Division, Major Crimes and Homicide Special Sections, conducting and directing major case investigations, and he has testified extensively in federal courts, before federal grand juries and the Los Angeles Grand Jury, as well as in various county superior and municipal courts; and
Whereas, William Gailey’s dedication to public service in further exemplified by his leadership as Vice President of the Board of Directors of For The Child and a Member of the Board of Governors of the City Club on Bunker Hill, as well as his membership in the California Association of Licensed Investigators, American Society for Industrial Security, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, National Council of Investigative & Security Services, California Homicide Investigators Association, International Homicide Investigators Association, and Southern California Fraud Investigators Association, in addition to his life membership with Veterans of Foreign Wars, 82nd Airborne Division Association, the 173rd Airborne Brigade Association; and
Whereas, Appointed to the Board of Governors of The State Bar of California in 2007, William Gailey has rendered outstanding service as Vice President during the 2010-2011 term, and he also has shared expertise as Vice Chair of the Regulation, Admissions and Discipline Committee and served on the Board Audit Committee and Volunteer Involvement Committee, and provided leadership as a member of the Board Committee on Operations, Discipline Oversight Committee, and Stakeholder Relations Committee; and
Whereas, In addition, William Gailey was appointed as Board liaison to several of the State Bar’s committees, commissions, standing committees, and section executive committees; and
Whereas, The numerous contributions that William Gailey has made to the legal community have been invaluable, and he has served as a worthy model for all public-spirited people of the State; now, therefore, be it Resolved by Senator Tom Harman, that he takes great pleasure in commending William H. Gailey on his outstanding record of leadership with The State Bar of California, and extends to him best wishes for every success in his future endeavors.
